Honorable mention at the Lens & Leaves Camera Club

Tonight's topic at Lens & Leaves Camera Club monthly meeting was underwater photography. The presenters were a cool couple from Wisconsin who recently moved to Columbus, OH- Frank and Audrey Begun- who scuba dive all over the world and specialize in photographing underwater world. They also judged our entries for monthly contest (generally, only nature photography is allowed to enter competition but this month 'the hand of man' was permitted).

I submitted two of my Hill of Crosses photos and one of them got an honorable mention and will be displayed at the Blacklick Woods Metro Park for a month.

Double Take: Uncommon View of Common Things (Updated 7/8)

Don't forget- this weekend is the opening of a new photography exhibit at the High Road Gallery in Worthington where two of my photographs are displayed. The exhibit is through July 24 and if you don't get a chance to stop by this Sunday (2 to 4PM), visit it before it ends. From what I could see there is a lot of great work displayed there and the gallery itself is very cute and cosy (conveniently located right by the library in Worthington).

*Update: the 'Approaching a Crossroad' won the third place prize!

Norka Futon Art Show

Thank you to all who came out and supported us and for those of you who could not make it- thank you for your best wishes sent our way. I truly hope that between now and January 31st you can stop by and check out some great art. And yes (!)-  since January's artist canceled their show, instead the usual one month that artists normally get, we got to display our art for two months.

There are four Lithuanian artists presenting their work: Natalija Zaleliene (paintings and photography), Loretta Sidabrene (paintings), Jurate Phillips (paintings) and myself (photography). While we all have very different styles, there is a common theme throughout our work: a touch of Lithuania.

As for me, I displayed my Hill of Crosses collection for the first time along with some photos I took abroad. I will be uploading some images fairly soon, so visit my blog again!
